History

In 2001, Late Shri T. S. Ranganathan (Mama) envisioned conducting Maharudram in Thane for the first time. Volunteers reached out door-to-door for support, and the overwhelming response led to a successful Maharudram in January 2001.

Inspired by this, like-minded members formed SIWASTHAN in June 2001 at Sant Gyaneshwar Mandir Hall, Thane. Monthly meetings led to key activities including monthly Pradosham Puja and the annual Maha Shivaratri celebration.

In January 2010, SIWASTHAN again organized Maharudram at Sant Gyaneshwar Mandir with participation from hundreds of devotees.
